Part of Team 8 of the Rookie 9, Kiba, along with Aburame Shino and Hyuuga Hinata, are trained by Yuuhi Kurenai. They specialize in tracking, making them one of the first to be called upon should someone or something is need be found.

Kiba is the "nose" of the team. His senses can top that of a canine's; even better when he performs one of his special skills (Shikyaku no Jutsu). Nothing can characterize Kiba's personality more than the fact that he is a ruthless little boy who appears to look down upon (nearly) everyone. Despite this characteristic, he is also a caring person; his closest friend, Akamaru knows this best. To him, Akamaru (his pet puppy) is the world to him. He'd carry the puppy everywhere: on his head, his shoulders, and even inside his jacket.

Oh, and he also has a slight alpha complex.
